Community Service and Character Building

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

At CCS, each child becomes part of his or her classroom community, and gradually, the community-at-large. Each classroom community works to be part of the larger school community that includes parents, faculty and staff. In turn, this larger school community learns from and gives back to the broader community of Los Angeles.  At every stage, community membership and responsibility strengthen in our students the conviction and compassion to join our body politic as engaged, contributing citizens.

From our vigorous Tuition Assistance program to our annual Health Fair, we strive to demonstrate through our actions how to be actively engaged citizens in a democracy.
