16 May 08 - 18:39Ruth's Goodbye Song: Lyrics

So Long CCS
I've been at our school for nearly 20 years
So many years with laughter and tears
Singing and dancing, art and printshop
Math, reading, writing
We never stop.

Cara and Kathleen our dance they provide
So our children move in space and don't collide
Sandy teaching artwork, a feast for the eyes
Woodworking, blockbuilding
My how time flies.

Coyotes were immersed in the Westward Movement
Clementine drowned and no one could save her
Dolphins had a visit from alien guests
The wuzzies arrived - their teachers were stressed

All School Meetings at the end of the week
We sing many songs so we won't fall asleep
Bobcats have cooking
Hawks lead the meeting
Grey Whales do birthdays while
Carpool's waiting outside

Winter and Spring Sings and Culminations
So many studies about different nations
I've got to find music to integrate all
and then there's Graduation to sing Farewell.

Colleen, Corinne, Carol, Seth, Robyn, Terri
Carlos, Lorena, Lynne, Helen, Mark and Erik
Helen, Bertha, Barbara and Heather are our jewels
These are the people who make up our School.

Neal is the one who kept me going
in hard in good times always showing
Caring and compassion without conditions saying
Teaching and children is our mission.

CHORUS:
So Long, it's been good to teach here
So Long, it's been good to teach here
So Long, it's been good to teach here
CCS is a wonderful school
And it's time ot be moving along
