Children's Community School is a progressive elementary school in Van Nuys, California, north of Los Angeles. For 25 years, CCS has stressed hands-on learning, a diverse environment, and involvement with the community around it. Guided by its founding director, the staff, and its board of directors, CCS looks forward to the future. Admissions applications are accepted and evaluated on a year-round basis.

The Foundation for Excellence in Education is a not-for-profit corporation as determined by both the federal and state governments. The mission of the Foundation is to enrich the community by offering arts and educational programs that support personal responsibility, foster creativity and embrace a diverse community. The organization values a non-competitive environment, a love of learning and compassion for self and others. Today, the Foundation operates a budget of over one million dollars in support of three programs: Children's Community School, Children's Arts Institute and the Van Nuys Health Fair and Family Festival. The Foundation accepts donations, and all gifts are tax deductible (Federal Tax ID 95-3901313).
