![]() Why do we fundraise at CCS?CCS is a not for profit corporation which is run by a Board of Directors. Each year, the board approves a budget for the school that anticipates that about 10% of the revenue of the school will be generated by fundraising activities. CCS does not charge each family the actual cost of a CCS education, as the tuition would be intimidating if not actually prohibitive. Additionally, all gifts made to CCS are fully tax-deductible whereas tuition is not deductible. What do we spend this money on?Funds raised during the year cover a wide variety of expenses including: teacher salaries and benefits, special projects, building repairs, supplies, books, and financial aid grants among others. How do we raise this money? The CCS community generously comes together to support many fundraising activities during the year including:
What do we expect of parents with regard to fundraising?CCS offers a wide variety of opportunities for ALL families to be involved and supportive of the School financially and by volunteering their time. In order for CCS to successfully meet our financial goals, we work hard to reach out to alumni families, foundations, companies and other friends of the School, but most of our support comes from our current families. We ask that you join us in this important endeavor by:
By doing these things you will make a big difference in, not only the amount of operating funds we raise, but also the amount of outside funding we generate. To whom do I speak if I have questions, ideas, comments or concerns about fundraising activities? All fundraising activities are approved by the Parent Coordinating Committee, which meets every other month during the school year. Any parent at those meetings can raise all ideas or concerns about fundraising, but, of course, more confidential issues can always be raised with Heather McPherson, CCS’ Assistant Director of Development & Community Relations under whose guidance fundraising activities are organized and coordinated. |
