Children's Community School is a progressive elementary school in Van Nuys, California, north of Los Angeles. For 25 years, CCS has stressed hands-on learning, a diverse environment, and involvement with the community around it. Guided by its founding director, the staff, and its board of directors, CCS looks forward to the future. Admissions applications are accepted and evaluated on a year-round basis.

Volunteering is part and parcel of CCS's mission. By spending time together helping the school run smoothly, parents create and sustain a sense of community as well as demonstrate to their children how to work together within a democracy.

All parents are expected to volunteer for Committee work, and CCS strives to distribute the workload as evenly as possible among parents. CCS is very grateful for the time and talents contributed to the school. Without parents' enthusiasm and energy, CCS would not be the warm community it is.

CCS offers a variety of ways to get involved to support the School that should be able to accommodate any schedule or interest:
